2026 marks a significant milestone for STS-CH: the 25th anniversary of our association. To celebrate, we are planning a series of 7 to 10 events throughout the year, designed to raise the visibility of Science and Technology Studies (STS) within Switzerland’s academic community. These events will explore key themes related to the past and future of science, technology, and society in Switzerland.
We invite you to contribute by proposing an event. We envision these events taking place at various location across the country (both within and outside academic institutions) and organized in collaboration with one or more academic societies, research institutes, or similar organizations. We welcome a range of formats, including roundtables, panels, public conferences, and more.
The STS-CH board will oversee coordination between the events, promote the events nationally, and provide financial support within the limits of the event series budget (approximately 1’000 CHF/per event).
To be part of this promising program, please submit your proposal including the following details:
- Event theme and focus (approximately 1’000 characters)
- Proposed venue
- Potential partner institutions or organizations
- Financial resources are needed
- The names, institutional affiliation and contact information of the event organizers
Scholars at all stages of their academic career, from early-career PhD candidates to senior researchers, are welcome to submit proposals. Please submit your proposal by December 15, 2024, to both STS-CH co-presidents: loic.riom@unil.ch andalexandra.hofmaenner@unibas.ch.
